I can only wish you and the Ponychan staff an easy and successfull merging process when you start working on it.
I know jackshit about either site as I only lurk /mlp/, /anon/ and /pone/ only of the porn and lulz, so I guess my opinion doesn't really matter. Anyway I'm interested on the outcome on this merge.
I personally don't see a problem with the merge if the staff (both sites) believe it won't end in disaster. They know the communities they host, after all.
Anyway, the software and hosting used will be MLPchan's with its star /anon/ board remaining untouched so my interests are fufilled.
The two major problems I see are the "no-porn" and "tripcodes" concepts, wich people have the most problems coming to a agreement. But the existence of /anon/ fills that hole, doesn't it?
Also, not trying to start a fire here, but I don't really get the "I pay the hosting but don't have authority" concept, that means Anonthony won't be part of the new site, no site decisions, no administration, nothing, and still, he pays the hosting. Its like paying for a house for other people.
Is Anonthony stepping out of the scene then or what?
