It's a small detail, but…

The [url] tag doesn't seem to work if the link provided doesn't begin with http://, https://, or ftp://.

If I wanted to link google.com, I'd have to type \[url=http://www.google.com] instead of \[url=www.google.com].

The same applies to regular links. http://www.google.com works, but not www.google.com

Why is this? It's not a problem per se, but I'm just curious.

It also seems like typing http:// before anything creates a link regardless of whether it's a valid URL or not.

It's intentional that those are the only allowed ones. I guess I could have it guess and auto-add "http://" if none of those are found, but it might confuse someone who tries to link to an unsupported protocol if http:// is added.

Not all URLs begin with www., and I think it would just make it more confusing if the protocol part was only needed on some URLs to auto-linkify.

I'd rather not make the linkifying too strict and risk ignoring valid links. http://1249767265 is a valid URL for example.

I should fix it so it requires at least one non-punctuation character after the protocol so "http://," doesn't get linkified at least.
