Took you long enough, Old man.

At 5PM, Rarity and Fancy Pants had gotten into a fierce argument with one another, in the middle of Canterlot, for all to see. This event was photographed by the paparazzi. This argument establishes Rarity's motive for murdering Fancy Pants.

At 8PM, several calls were made to the police noting a large disturbance and seemingly violent noises coming from Fancy Pant’s apartment.

Fancy Pants was stabbed to death at 8:15 PM, time of death is very precise in the Autopsy report.

The police arrived at 8:30 PM and arrested Rarity who was leaving the building at the time.

There were a few witnesses on the scene that can attest to the presence of Rarity in the building. Do not question their presence, for it is irrelevant to the case.

The rest can be left to the detective of the case, need he be called upon, however, I believe this case is open and shut. No point in going into detail, Rarity is the murderer.

Your honor, this statement that has just been said by the Witness is excluded under rule 403, and the witness is leading the court. Mr. Fulbright cannot possibly know that Rarity brought that knife for the sole purpose of murder, and he cannot know that any sort of murder was planned either.

>>787304
It's odd, because even though Rarity supposedly went through all this planning to kill a man she got into a scuffle with, she would only have three hours in between her supposed "motive" and the time she brought a knife. Fool Bright is not leading the court, he made an educated assumption. I ask you, if you are unhappy with your relationship, and ended up killing your lover, wouldn't you have thought about it in advance before enacting it? Who would murder someone on the same day of an argument? That would simply be foolish.

It is known that this is not the first argument the two had. The two of them have had multiple arguments over the course of a week. Rarity grew more and more hateful of Fancy Pants, and when she had enough, she decided to purchase a knife to murder him with.

>If you buy a knife from a weapons dealer, what other purpose would you buy it for, if not murder?

I dunno, if you buy lemons from a lemon dealer, you couldn't possibly be using those lemons to torture little children, could you? You're not thinking broad enough. The fact still stands that unless you can really prove she brought that knife in advance to kill Fancy Pants, all she did was buy a knife. What's more, I find it curious you're basing her motive on what she did on the day of the murder, and yet rule off all other traces as unrelated when you have clearly stated here that she brought the knife much prior to the actual killing. You can't rule those other traces off simply because they're days old, because the purchase of the knife is also days old. There are many ways to kill someone without leaving traces and without using magic.

In order to prevent what these youngsters call a "pissing contest", I will now state this court's opinion.

The Court believes that the prosecution makes an excellent point. The Court also believes that the defense has not presented any evidence backing its claim that the motive is invalid.

The facts are all there. Rarity's aura is on the weapon, and is the most recent one there. Might I remind you, Ms. Shameimaru, that evidence outweighs the importance of motive. Even if Ms. Rarity lacks a motive, the evidence stacks up against her.

It currently seems as though there is no one but Rarity who could have committed the crime.

>>787345
The magical aura was attempted to be wiped off, as well as the signs of a struggle. Rarity tried to remove the evidence of her crime, and it is assumed that she would have disposed of Fancy Pants' body if she had the time. Either that, or she would have tried to frame someone else. Ms. Rarity was well aware that the police were called, ergo, she clearly wanted to leave as soon as possible, and when she heard the police pull up, she knew she was out of time, and hoped for the best.

All you are doing is questioning Rarity's logic though! The fact, at the end of the day is, Rarity killed Fancy Pants! She was there, she had the knife, the knife bears her magical aura, and she was arrested because she has to pay for her crimes!

Once again, Mr. Fulbright, you have failed to prove the relevancy between the murder, the knife, Ms. Rarity, and conjoin them all. I argue the knife was a gift from a weapons dealer, which was treasured by Rarity hence the resulting aura, and was used to kill Mr. Fancy Pants by a third party that managed to do it without leaving a trace after the argument! Since that girl Mr. Wright always hangs out with, I think her name was Ms. Skye, is at the hospital with him, keeping him company, it's up to me to post these notes!

>[Evidence]<

Autopsy Report - States that the victim, Fancy Pants, was stabbed three times in the chest with one stab to the heart. He bled to death at 8:15 PM.

Knife - Found in Fancy Pants’ heart wound. Has Rarity’s magical aura on it, making it incriminating evidence. Other magic auras are on the knife but Rarity’s trace is the strongest. No other organic traces found on the knife.

Picture #1 - Shows Rarity and Fancy Pants arguing. This helps establish Rarity’s motive for the murder of Fancy Pants.

Sales Sheet - Evidence that shows Rarity purchased the knife from a weapon’s dealer. Helps establish her motive.

>[Profiles]<

Simon Blackquill - The Prosecution. Pretending to be a samurai.

Aya Shameimaru - The Defense. Floundering around like a.. flounder.

Mia Fey - The Defense. Ready to rock.

Rarity - The Defendant. Talks in a tone I don’t recognise.

Fancy Pants - The victim. Found stabbed to death in his home.

High Judge - The Judge of Courtroom Number 2. Rather indecisive.

Bobby Fulbright - The detective in charge of the case. Has a thing for justice.

>[Prosecutions Argument]<

Rarity was seen leaving the building directly after Fancy Pant’s murder, meaning she must be the murderer. She also purchased a knife from a weapons dealer, and was seen arguing with the victim multiple times, not to mention her traces found everywhere.

>[Defense's Argument]<

The Defense does not really have any sort of argument as of now.

>[Judge's Bias]<

The Judge is terribly biased towards the Prosecution. Feels bad for the defense because he made her cry.

>[Witness Testimony]<

Bobby Fulbright -
>1. At 5:00 PM, there was a very loud and noticeable argument between Rarity and Fancy Pants. This was just one of many arguments over the course of the week.

>2. The two of them were apparently unhappy with their relationship, according to witnesses on the scene.

>3. I present this photo of the argument in action, taken from the paparazzi!

>4. At 8:00 PM, there were reports of a disturbance going on in Fancy Pants' suite

>5. Police were notified and arrived on the scene at 8:30 PM.

>6. Fancy Pants was found dead on his kitchen floor, with the murder weapon still within him.

>7. By evaluating the victim, we discovered he was dead by 8:15 PM.

>8. As Police arrived at the scene, Rarity was leaving the building.

>9. Once we analyzed the knife, and discovered her magical aura was on it, we went to Rarity's Boutique and immediately arrested her.

>10. It is assumed by our investigative team that Rarity tried to quietly kill Fancy Pants, but Fancy Pants created a ruckus about it.

A fellow inmate once told me, do not draw your weapon at the wrong time, or you will pay the price. Ironically, its the fact that he never drew his weapon in the first place that got him locked up.

While the defense has a point that the prosecution has tried to prevent any and all questioning in the past, the prosecution has made their point very clear. The defendant says she was framed, while the evidence is clearly contradictory. If she was framed, her aura would not be on that knife.

Your Baldness… this is preposterous! There has to be some kind of trickery at work here! This has never been documented in the history of Equestria before!

The prosecution asserts that Rarity was able to find a spell, using the help of Twilight Sparkle, to alter the existing auras on the knife!

Aya Shameimaru !MJ7QOwb7Ts 790785

File: 1403315041227.png (178.47 KB, 640x480, ayaobjection_outcry.png)

Lets go over some of the points the Prosecution has made up to this point.
>1. At 5:00 PM, there was a very loud and noticeable argument between Rarity and Fancy Pants. This was just one of many arguments over the course of the week.

>2. The two of them were apparently unhappy with their relationship, according to witnesses on the scene.

Both of these statements cannot be backed up by the Prosecution. Not only are they incredibly seedy, all of this information was gathered from either unreliable witnesses which can be governed as hearsay, and from a single paparazzi pony which is even less trustworthy!
>taken from the paparazzi!

>>8. As Police arrived at the scene, Rarity was leaving the building.

>9. Once we analyzed the knife, and discovered her magical aura was on it, we went to Rarity's Boutique and immediately arrested her.

Now that we know this knife has no trace of Rarity's aura on it whatsoever, Rarity cannot possibly be the murderer! What's even more bothersome is this!

>Sales Sheet - Evidence that shows Rarity purchased the knife from a weapon’s dealer. Helps establish her motive.

You presented this evidence, Mr. Blackquill! You plainly told the court that this sheet was evidence that nobody other than Rarity could have brought the knife! What do you have to say to this?!

>>10. It is assumed by our investigative team that Rarity tried to quietly kill Fancy Pants, but Fancy Pants created a ruckus about it.

Another impossibility! She never touched Fancy Pants that day, as she left at 8:30! If you can't prove that she stabbed her in the heart at 8:15, there is absolutely no way Rarity could not have noticed the stabbed body lying in the middle of the floor, much less as an Element of Harmony would she have left it there and run away! There's foul play at work here!

You are incorrect there, Shameimaru-dono! Refer to your very own witness's testimony that you seem to have skipped over to make one simple hole in my case!

>1. I had been seeing Fancypants for quite some time now, he and I have had a nice relationship

I assert that this change of aura's could have happened right here in front of our own eyes, and we would be none the wiser! I assert that we call upon either Princess available to us!

>Autopsy Report - States that the victim, Fancy Pants, was stabbed three times in the chest with one stab to the heart. He bled to death at 8:15 PM.

This does nothing but tell us he was stabbed.

Knife - Found in Fancy Pants’ heart wound. Had what was originally believed to be Rarity’s aura, but it has since then shifted into an unidentifiable aura. No other organic traces found on the knife.
This tells us it wasn't Rarity.

Picture #1 - Shows Rarity and Fancy Pants arguing. This helps establish Rarity’s motive for the murder of Fancy Pants.
This helps tell us that paparazzi's are a scourge upon society.

This helps tell us you should pay more attention to the evidence.

However, the changing aura is very peculiar and has never been documented before. After hearing what both sides have to say, I no longer think that this aura is as simple as it seems. Further investigation must take place. I do believe we should call upon the Princesses to ask about the nature of this Aura.

Miss Shameimaru, make an outburst like that again, and you will be held in contempt of court. Do not question the ability of our forensics team. But…. That's not possible at all.
Please recall when Mr. Fancy Pants was stabbed. 8:30PM, June the 14th.
Now, the time it would have taken to advance to June the 15th is 3 hours, 30 minutes.
\\3:30
Now, yesterday in court, you claim the aura was still Rarity's, just fading. That was another 24 hours.
\\27:30
And now, it's the afternoon of the day after that.
\\39:30
That's 39 Hours in total.
Recall from basic schoolwork that a day is 24 hours. From this, a day and 15 hours have passed.
If the aura only starts fading after the first day…
We're still on the first day. The aura should not have changed.

Ah, so you know I still exist. Good.

The aura is quite obviously in stage two of decaying, which is why Rarity's aura is now unidentifiable, unlike when the knife was found at the scene of the crime. Rarity killed Fancypants, and she must have been unaware of the spell that causes one's aura to decay. Her aura was the strongest on the knife on the day of the murder, ergo, she committed the murder. In fact, it was so strong, it overshadowed all the other auras, meaning she used it recently.

>>790904
Tsk, tsk, tsk. Such balderdash coming from desperate attorneys. Explain why the aura was so strong on the day of the murder, and why it's unidentifiable now, when it is of convenience to you.

>>790900

>Explain why the aura was so strong on the day of the murder, and why it's unidentifiable now, when it is of convenience to you?

It was strong because it was on the first day of the stabbing, >24 hours.
Now, It's 39 (Actually 37 Hours, if we count canonically) hours after that. Meaning, we are on the day where the aura has only begun to fade. You're arguing the aura changed over time. It's not possible, because we haven't gone into the second day yet.

SILENCE!

If you listened to her Highness' testimony, you would have heard the crucial words
>Such an aura would begin to fade a day after, and then would enter stage two of fading a day later

More specifically,
>then would enter stage two of fading a day later

The knife was used to kill Fancypants on the 14th. Yesterday was the 15th. Today is the 16th. Over 24 hours have passed, meaning that the aura should be in stage two now.

The knife began stage one from hours 1-24. Then began stage two from hours 25-39.

>>790909
Simple. Take this other theory I have, if you are not satisfied with my previous one. The auras are obviously connected to the days themselves, not hours. The cycle of sun and moon is what auras are attached to, not the actual hours of time. It has been two days since the murder, ergo, the knife is in stage two.

The knife's aura was never checked yesterday, if you may recall. Ergo, you are in the wrong. Your Baldness, I ask that you penalize them for their foolishness.

Thou does not knoweth the truth behinds the magic in this land. Recall that I said that auras can be erratic. This is an example of a time that it is erratic. It is also possible that Rarity has used the spell to advance the decay of her aura, but was not fast enough to preform it completely.

The knife would have begun to undergo phasing the moment it was released from 8:30 PM. If you could read english, you'd be able to know that it'd be perfectly normal up until the day after that, 24 hours after, when it begins to fade, and another 24 where it destabilises into an unidentifiable one.
>>790921
Stabbed at 8:30 PM, June 14. Time passes 3 hours 30 Minutes onto June 15. \\3:30

Court day one, 24 hours pass. \\27:30

Court day two, 9 Hours pass since prelogue. \\36:30

Court day two to present (since Lobby), 4 Hours 42 Minutes. \\41:12

That's a six hour 42 minute gap you have there when it BEGINS to deteriorate. "Erratic" is not a synonym of "instantaneous", it wouldn't have happened immediately after it crossed the mark, and it hasn't yet even.

>It is also possible that Rarity has used the spell to advance the decay of her aura, but was not fast enough to preform it completely.

Alright! The case is over! Rarity is innocent, and Equestria is safe!

We haven't done this in a long time, and I don't want to be an asshole and force Rice to do this, so I'll do it instead. And I know Blackquill Anon loves it.

>[Evidence]<

Autopsy Report - States that the victim, Fancy Pants, was stabbed three times in the chest with one stab to the heart. He bled to death at 8:15 PM.

Knife - Found in Fancy Pants’ heart wound. Had what was originally believed to be Rarity’s aura, but it has since then shifted into an unidentifiable aura. Holds other unidentifiable traces. No other organic traces found on the knife.

Picture #1 - Shows Rarity and Fancy Pants arguing. This helps establish Rarity’s motive for the murder of Fancy Pants. Rarity testifies that it pictures Fancy Pants bumping into her

Sales Sheet - Evidence that shows Rarity purchased the knife from a weapon’s dealer three days prior to the murder. Helps establish her motive. Is a possible forgery by the weapons dealer.

Princess Luna - The Princess of the Night. She uses an older form of English.

>[Prosecutions Argument]<

The aura found on the knife was once identified as Rarity’s, meaning something must have happened to it for it to alter itself.

>[Defense's Argument]<

The Defense has no argument due to the case having ended

>[Judge's Bias]<

The Judge is unbiased and has handed down his verdict.

>[Reason for Innocence]<

The evidence is not incriminating enough to indict Rarity for the crime of the murder of Fancypants. Current culprit unknown.
