At 8PM, several calls were made to the police noting a large disturbance and seemingly violent noises coming from Fancypant’s apartment.

At 8:15 PM, a hidden camera had taken a picture of a dead Fancypants laying on the floor, having been stabbed. I submit the autopsy report into evidence, as well as the photograph.

The police arrived at 8:30 and arrested Rarity who was leaving the building at the time.

There was a photo taken at that time as well, but it is irrelevant as the officer was unknowingly blocking the hidden camera.

There were a few witnesses on the scene. Their reason for being there is irrelevant until they testify, so do not test me, Fey-dono.

I would like to call the Detective for this case to the stand. He can explain to you about the camera and all about the investigation. Fool Bright! Come forth now.

Equestria trying to get rid of one of the heroes of legend and elements of harmony? Well this idea sounds as logical as I love to be.

Rarity, you are my "friend" right? If so, mind doing something funny when you get cornered? Maybe doing a funny cry or something when you get canned? It seems people scream a lot anyways when they get convicted, but can you make it more comical when you do yours?

In the name of Justice, I will testify!

>[Witness Testimony]<

1) There was a camera installed in Fancypant’s apartment since his wife was murdered
2) It would take pictures every 15 minutes
3) The camera took a picture at 8PM, showing Rarity and Fancypants together in his apartment, arguing
4) The Camera then took another picture at 8:15PM, where a clearly dead Fancypants can be seen
5) We arrived at the scene, and arrested Rarity on the spot.

I present of course, the picture where you can see Rarity and Fancypants arguing. The murder photo has already been submitted.

Excuse the really bad photoshopping. It does the job.

1) We arrived at the scene at 8:30PM after having been called at 8:00PM to put an end to some domestic violence
2) We noticed Rarity leaving the apartment as we arrived, so she was arrested on the spot.
3) After arresting Rarity, we investigated the apartment.
4) The apartment was a complete mess, signs of a struggle were shown.
5) There was a burn mark on the victim, presumably an electrocution spell used to concuss Fancypants, leaving him vulnerable.
6) There were burn marks also all around the room, showing that Fancypants had tried to defend himself
7) Fancypants was then stabbed by Rarity in the chest where he died instantaneously
8) The dead body was found in the Kitchen, in a pool of blood

I submit to the court, a diagram of Fancypant's apartment. If you may remember, this is the very same apartment Jet Set murdered Fluer Dis Lee in.

Now, lets take a look at what you just testified to the court! >>753440
>all you see is the back of my head, since we as humans are taller than ponies.

I don't believe that explaination for a single second! If you were head height with the camera, how come these ponies are too?! Did you shrink upon entering the room? I have only one explanation for this! Take a look at the photo again!
>>753394
There is a blatant contradiction in here! The camera was located inside the building! Why is this photo outside? I argue this picture was taken at a completely different location and time, and is irrelevant to the case at hand!
But if you look closel- no, you don't even need to look very closely at the image to spot something else! >>753394
Take a look at the perspective sizes of the two! Rarity has either grown in size to a massive degree and then sank into the ground, or the more logical conclusion is that they are standing a distance away from each other! But if that's true, they could not have possibly been arguing with each other!
The Defense believes the two were arguing with two completely different people, and the person who was arguing with Fancypants is covered by Rarity in this picture! It also explains why the image is at this height and location! It must have been taken by a different pony, at a different time!

(..It's coming back to me! It makes sense!)
What can we get from this?
THATS IT!

1. Rarity has lost all motive for the crime! She wasn't arguing with Fancypants!
2. This image is incompetent evidence! It's not possible to be the image from the hidden camera!
3. The image Detective Fulbright is hiding from the court at this moment is either as he says, which means there is still ANOTHER image of the crime scene in question, or he is lying about the image being covered!

SILENCE!

You fool. Fool Bright has obviously remembered wrong. He will pay greatly for this. The inconsistency of one image is barely important. First of all, Fancypants has a wall paper that simply looks like the outside. The photo does have inconsistencies, but it hardly matters.

I agree that this evidence is faulty, and can not be used, however, that does little to help your case.

Remember what Fool Bright just testified about.

>>753453
>9) The murder weapon had Rarity's magical aura on it.

Evidence outweighs the importance of motive. While it is unknown now why she committed the murder, the evidence does not lie. Explain that, Fey-dono.

Mia Fey !9jPA5pCF9c 753489

OBJECTION!

The location of this image is all that is important! If it's not the one taken inside he building, you have literally ZERO proof that Rarity picked up that knife in between the times of 8PM and 8:15PM!
>He simply forgot
I cannot believe you would go to arguing that! Would you forget if you suddenly shrunk?! You cannot "He just forgot" away the fact that he could not have possibly been head height with the camera, if of course you say this image is legitimate!

>9) The murder weapon had Rarity's magical aura on it.

Magical aura intensity skyrockets when the object is picked up for the first time! I argue the knife was picked up at a completely different time, where it began to wear off, then another pony came along and used it to murder Fancypants! They then removed all traces of themselves from the knife and set up the other person there, Rarity, to take the fall!
Either way, without any basis of Rarity being there to pick up the knife, you can't prove when Rarity picked that knife up! And if you can't prove she picked the knife up, you cannot prove she committed the crime!

However, you can not prove that Rarity did not pick up the knife at the time of the murder. It is the burden of the defense to provide evidence showing to prove their claims.

Also, if another pony came to use it, hoofprints, or a magical aura would have been found. Some traces of a third party would be found, and none were found.

You also seem to forget how Magical Auras work. The more an item is lifted, the longer the aura lasts. The prosecution asserts that the accused lifted the item and stabbed him. There is no evidence saying otherwise.

Desperate, just like Wright-dono. You have brought a weak blade.

Mia Fey !9jPA5pCF9c 753504

…Well then, it seems neither of us can prove if Rarity picked up that knife. But I have more points to go on.

>We arrived at the scene at 8:30PM after having been called at 8:00PM

>The police arrived at 8:30 and arrested Rarity who was leaving the building at the time.
>time of death was 8:10 PM. Death was instantaneous.
Why would Rarity stay at the crime scene for a full 20 minutes? It's pure logic that you would run, especially for a pony like Rarity, who is easily overcome by stress!

>>753482
>Fancypants has a wall paper that simply looks like the outside.
Not possible. The wall isn't shown in the camera's field of view. If you're going to argue that the camera could actually see the wall though, then there would be an obvious corner in the picture as the camera points towards the corner of the room. But it doesn't!

>all you see is the back of my head, since we as humans are taller than ponies.

Now that Detective Fulbright has no basis to assume that he is head hight with the camera, I want him to present either the REAL photo or the image where his head apparently blocks the camera! One of the two, if we put them together contradicts logic as we know it! Look at the picture submitted of the crime!
>>753422
Fancypants is much bigger than Rarity. Therefore we can assume that Rarity was located BEHIND Fancypants, more towards the kitchen. But this raises an error! She could not have been spotted by that camera if she was behind him, because logically either he would block the camera's view or she would be out of range! Don't even argue she was further towards the camera, she couldn't have fit in that tiny gap, and it would have covered the camera! I argue that Detective Fulbright tell the truth about these matters, because the current explanation doesn't help anyone at all!

Simon Blackquill !!NM7koorPQ0 753511

File: 1398487230099.gif (369.3 KB, 228x149, BrokenShackleSlam.gif)

>>753504

Questioning the accused's logic will not get you far, Fey-dono. While I do agree that one would run away from the crime scene, and it is illogical that she didn't, she was still found at the crime scene, and therefore arrested.

>Not possible. The wall isn't shown in the camera's field of view. If you're going to argue that the camera could actually see the wall though, then there would be an obvious corner in the picture as the camera points towards the corner of the room. But it doesn't!

I have already conceded that the photo is faulty evidence. Pressing on this photo is completely unnecessary. Besides, even if it did photograph something, it would have photographed nothing but the police investigating the crime scene, and/or the very same thing it photographed 15 minutes prior, the dead body of the victim, Fancypants.

>>753504
I assert that these photographs are irrelevant evidence, and clearly faulty. One may not use faulty evidence in court, and I will make sure Fool Bright sees the fullest extent of his punishment via Taka's claws of fury.

You keep arguing about the same thing, this photo. The photo can not be used to back any of your claims or mine, therefore, it is unusable and irrelevant.

Even if the photo was of relevance, what would that change? Absolutely nothing.

Rarity's magical aura was still used on the knife, and the knife was found in the victim.

Mind you, that she could not have stabbed him from behind, for there is a stab in the chest.

Your blade is crumbling, I suggest you sheathe it.

The knife having her aura and being found in the body are fact, this is true. But now that i've made the photo irrelevant you have no basis to assume was actually there at that moment to stab Fancypants. I could stab you, leave the Judge's prints on it, and noone would be the wiser.

>these photographs are irrelevant evidence, and clearly faulty.

Hello there! I am filling in for Ms. Mia Fey. She seemingly had a sudden case of "hit by car". On the way to the hospital, she apparently was muttering something about how "death needs to reclaim those escaped". These kids nowadays watch too many horror movies.

So I am here to represent Ms. Rarity of her "Not Guilty" verdict. Normally it would be my husband, but he was the one driving the car that hit Mia; so he is kind of being held for questioning. I decided, Rarity is a dear friend of mine and I won't just let her get bullied in court without someone there to defend her. Now that wouldn't be very motherly if I did let that happen.

So, it is nice to meet you Mr. Blackquill. I am not really trained in the specifics of the law, but I do hope we can work together to find the truth. He he~

Secondly, I must also request the data on the "fake" photograph; all of the information we can muster to get on it. It did not just come out of nowhere afterall. It also somehow found its way into the court record. I want to know everything I can about it.

Lastly, for now, I must also ask for the missing photo from the hidden camera, which the "fake" photo got replaced with. I feel it is a vital piece of this case.

We took the previous photograph that was submitted as evidence back to the force, and we found out that the original photo taken by the camera was wiped off of it and digitally replaced by the one we presented yesterday.

We looked further into the mysterious photo, and we found out that it was taken that very same day. We have the pony who took the photo in the detention center for questioning as we speak. Apparently, she was very close to Rarity, explaining why she is so large in the photo.

Witnesses can confirm that the argument happened. It took place at about 5PM that day, outside Fancypants' residence.

So this is what we can confirm so far, please stop me if I am incorrect on any of this.

Rarity is accused of the murder of Fancy Pants. She apparently got into a scuffle with the pony known as Fancy Pants, which she seemingly stunned him with magic, one blast to the chest to incapacitate him, then stabbed precisely to give a one stab kill. She then replaced the photo that may have shown the true scene before the murder scene with a photo that could not have been in her possession and put it into the camera to frame herself of having motive to kill. She then waited around for 20 minutes or so for police to arrive on scene to be caught near the scene of the crime.

This is all correct, right?

Also, mind just giving me a bit more information on the knife? I must ask if there is anything in particular about that knife. Like, due to the fact I do not see a sheath, is it retractable or maybe part of something else, like a cane? If it does have a sheathe, may I ask it to be presented to the court?

We are not accusing Rarity of replacing the photo, that would simply be foolish. She would have no way of replacing said photograph. I do not indict anyone on a false charge.

This is not my blade, that is the blade of Rarity, according to prosecution. Honestly, I can't argue that it may have been. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. The fact there is no proof that the knife even was hers and that no proof showing how she got her magic fingerprints on it in the first place, there just seems to be a big blank that you are basing assumptions upon.

>We are not accusing Rarity of replacing the photo, that would simply be foolish. She would have no way of replacing said photograph. I do not indict anyone on a false charge.

So then that means that there exists a third party that had to have done this; likely with a motive that would benefit them if a pony other than him or her was indicted for the crime based upon their tampering.

Now is time for my theory. It is not entirely complete, due to lack of information to both of us, but I think it is good enough to prove that Rarity committing the crime seems highly illogical.

My theory is that Fancy Pants was indeed electrocuted and stunned. I cannot say for sure if he actually had a struggle or not, due to lack of details of the actual scuffle past "burn marks". He was either stunned inside his apartment by another assailant, or attacked somewhere else and had his body dragged into his apartment right; either way, it was right in front of the hidden camera that somepony obviously knew enough about to be able to tamper freely. The then stunned Fancy Pants was stabbed upon being dragged or put into this prime location for the camera to capture his dead body. He was then precisely stabbed once to give a perfect and bloody kill with a knife that had Rarity's magic prints on it. The assailant then altered the crime scene to place a false picture into the camera for the police to find so that they could indict Rarity with a reason to kill.

The fact Fancy Pants got stunned also proves that the assailant could fire off the same stunning burn marks that are around the apartment, thus the apartment's proof of being a "sign of struggle" could also be put into question as more forged evidence by the unknown assailant. Also, the fact we don't know WHEN Rarity touched the blade means that she could have touched it before OR AFTER the crime had been committed. Maybe she waited around for the police because she saw the body and fainted. Maybe she tried to pull out the knife, but got too light headed from seeing a friend of hers dead in front of her, and immediately stopped. Maybe it was on the counter and was a family heirloom and she picked it up from time to time. The fact that all we have on the weapon is her magic prints proves nothing, especially because the proof that evidence was indeed tampered with to create a false assumption that Rarity was the guilty party and that Fancy Pants likely made enemies with individuals that had the ability to pick up the knife without leaving prints; aka gloved claws/hands or dental dammed mouths. I am not sure if there is a way to wipe off magical prints, but if there is then that leaves a new possibility for a unicorn to maybe have wielded it and wiped off the prints afterwords.

In other words, the logic of this whole case is based upon Rarity being illogical and the evidence being knowingly tampered with to point to Rarity being the pony in question that is guilty.

Sorry if I was a little mean right there, Mr. Blackquill. I tend to get on a roll when I am thinking a lot, thus the reason I love to play Scrabble with my family. I would always win, but my little Button would cry if I ever beat him too many times in a row in a game.

SILENCE!

Do you really think you can win this with a mere theory? There is nothing here that proves that she is not the killer. I concede that there is a possibility of a third party, but again, their traces would be found on the murder weapon, which they were not. If anything, the one who replaced the photo could be an accomplice to the crime, but the prosecution still asserts that Rarity is the murderer.

If you think you can without a doubt prove Rarity's innocence with this mere conjecture, then you have another thing coming.

Need I even point out the inconsistencies in your theory?

Well then give me "the accomplice to the murder", please. If you are stating that this possibility is how you can prove my defendant is guilty, then I am asking you to provide it for the courtroom. If not, then your theory is nothing more than conjecture based on no line of logic.

Also, while this may not be something that proves "she is not the killer", it does provide much reasoning to believe that this is not the case. Innocent until proven guilty, and unless you have proof that my theory is the one that seems illogical or evidence contradicting it, it seems my theory stands.

The argument that the defense stands on is that there is too much doubt and proved tampering to give false motive to a unicorn acting too illogically to be a murderer. It seems this whole murder has been done by an outside party to get Rarity indicted for the murder for whatever reason; whether it to be to get away scot-clean themselves or because they have a vendetta against Rarity.

>I concede that there is a possibility of a third party, but again, their traces would be found on the murder weapon, which they were not

Which I have already given that their prints may not be on the weapon for various reasons. They could have been wearing gloves, picking up the item with a dental dam, or even found a way to wipe their magical marks off. There is no reason their traces would need to be found on the murder weapon. If anything, the fact that only one set of magical prints were found on the murder weapon would be more damning if the murderer knew they could use that WITH the picture to prove an innocent pony's guilt.

How do I say? TAKE THAT!~

First of all, we know who took the photograph. He asserts that he did not give the photo to anyone, meaning he has to be the one who replaced the photograph.

This photographer is a mere earth pony, and has no magical capabilities, so asserting that he is the one who murdered Fancypants is foolhardy.

>He was either stunned inside his apartment by another assailant, or attacked somewhere else and had his body dragged into his apartment right; either way, it was right in front of the hidden camera that somepony obviously knew enough about to be able to tamper freely.

Fool. You do not realize that there are signs of a struggle in said apartment. Fancypants had fired back, trying to defend himself. The burn marks found around the area are proof enough of that.

Since you are so insistent on logical fallacies, have a taste of your own medicine.

>Maybe it was on the counter and was a family heirloom and she picked it up from time to time.

Why would a knife, made for the specific intention of being a weapon, be a family heirloom? Rarity's family does not seem the type of family to hold murder weapons.

>I am not sure if there is a way to wipe off magical prints, but if there is then that leaves a new possibility for a unicorn to maybe have wielded it and wiped off the prints afterwords.

One can not wipe off a magical aura. It is engraved into the knife itself. Since Rarity's is the only one found on said blade, it is impossible for another unicorn to have come and picked it up.

You say that the logic of this case is flawed, and I say poppycock.

Either way, you have presented no evidence that can clear Rarity of guilt.

Just because you are a mere stand-in does not mean I will grant you any mercy. Dare challenge my blade, and I shall show you its wrath.

>>753738
SILENCE!

This is nothing but a mere roundabout. This will get nowhere. The prosecution has a witness that can easily show that Rarity is without a doubt the murderer. For she not only witnessed the argument, but she also saw Rarity enter the apartment building a mere 15 minutes before the murder. There were reports of a disturbance a mere 5 minutes after she entered coming from Fancypants' room. I request that either the defense stops regurgitating their conjecture, or that I am able to call my witness.

>First of all, we know who took the photograph. He asserts that he did not give the photo to anypony, meaning he has to be the one who replaced the photograph.
Well then he is either lying, the murderer, or an accomplice to the murderer. Either way, his statement contradicts the fact that this photo DID find its way into the court record through the tampering of the camera on scene. That puts the murderer on the scene of the crime.

Actually, if he did not give the photo to anypony, then that puts ONLY HIM AT THE SCENE OF THE CRIME.

Also, if he were the killer, he could easily leave no prints if he used something that kept the saliva from his mouth off of the weapon. He could use a dental dam, some paper, even film from his camera. The fact Fancy Pants was stunned BEFORE death, means that the killer had ample time to prepare the weapon for the one stab kill. Also, it was never said that magic was used to stun, it was only hinted to. There are many things in that can stun a pony, electricity being the easiest for a pony to get their hands upon. This pony may have used something like a stun gun or just something that can channel raw electricity to stun the stallion. Also, I was not saying that there WAS proof that there WASN'T a sign of struggle, but that the killer could easily have forged the scene if he had the ability to stun Fancy Pants in the first place. The fact that there is a POSSIBILITY of the actual scene of the crime being forged with a sign of struggle already puts doubt into that whole theory.

>Why would a knife, made for the specific intention of being a weapon, be a family heirloom? Rarity's family does not seem the type of family to hold murder weapons.

My family heirloom is a gaming system from when I was a kid. There is no rules to what can and cannot be a family heirloom. But that was just a theory, the fact you have provided no evidence to where this knife came from or its connection to the defendant, past magical marks, leaves open suspicion for the evidence being forged by the same pony or other creature that forged the false photo evidence. Right now, the proof that the photo was slipped in to give false motive to Rarity is the biggest sign that we are dealing with another pony or creature entirely behind this whole thing.

>it is impossible for another unicorn to have come and picked it up.

You know, other than with its mouth, with a dental dam or other form of intermediary to stop the saliva from getting on the weapon…

So actually, thank you. The fact you gave testimony has pretty much just cleared my defendant of proof of guilt. If the only pony that had access to the photo, used to alter the scene of the crime to try and alter the blame to Rarity, was the photographer, he is the most likely to be guilty.

It seems, Mr. Blackquill, the one with flawed logic is you.

>I've heard you argue that this third party is the one responsible for committing the murder, yet the only evidence you are basing this theory on is that the photo is in fact fake.
The photo is fake, it was put into the camera for unknown reasons while the real photograph is missing, and the only pony who admits to having access to this photo is the photographer from earlier; putting him at the scene of the crime sometime before the cops got there to retrieve the evidence and after the original missing photo was taken. That was… around the time of the murder, yes?

The fact that the camera was tampered with in this timeframe also leaves high possibility that the murder weapon was fabricated and so may the crime scene have been. This means that the murder weapons' validity is now in question, and so is the actual scene of the crime. Also to add in, a new suspect is higher on the list for people that were likely at the scene of the crime; the photographer.

There is honestly so much there that helps disprove Rarity as being the only pony capable of murdering Fancy Pants, that I am surprised you are still trying to try her under so much faulty evidence put into question.

If I must ask, do you maybe have a personal vendetta against my client, sir?

How do you know that the photographer did anything but change the photos? How do you know that it wasn't he who alerted the police of the disturbance? How do you know that it wasn't the photographer to whom the hidden camera was installed by?

You are spouting mere baseless conjecture and wasting this court's time.

You have done nothing to prove your client's innocence. There is no reason for her magical aura to be on the murder weapon other than to murder Fancypants.

This part of your argument is downright laughable, Mash-dono.

There is photographic proof that there is a knife in Fancypants. Said picture was taken at 8:15 PM. It was left un-tampered and it clearly depicts his dead body in the pool of blood. One can easily see that there are burn marks on him as well.

The murder weapon could not have been fabricated since it was found inside of him and had his blood.

Either way, if you are calling evidence into question, where is your evidence showing that the murder weapon is fabricated?

>You still have not proven that anyone else has laid their petty hooves on the murder weapon. You are merely dodging the question with more conjecture.
I am putting forth that the pony that tampered with the photograph at the time of the murder also had the opportunity to tamper with the murder weapon also. The fact that this is a possibility throws the legitimacy of your "evidence" into question. I don't have to prove that someone DID tamper with it when I can prove that it COULD have been tampered with. Can you prove that the murder weapon in question was ONLY used by the defendant?

I really do wish my old friend Ms. Von Karma was here, I am sure she would be able to give you a toungelashing about "perfect evidence".

>How do you know that the photographer did anything but change the photos? How do you know that it wasn't he who alerted the police of the disturbance? How do you know that it wasn't the photographer to whom the hidden camera was installed by?

I don't know, but the fact he was on scene during the murder makes him a suspect. Especially because it seems he had motive, by switching the photos to try and convict Rarity. Shouldn't you be trying him instead?

>You are spouting mere baseless conjecture and wasting this court's time.

And this is where I must disagree, there is nothing wrong about my testimony. I have given everything this court needs to prove that there was another pony at the scene of the crime in the time period when the crime was committed tampering with evidence to make another pony seem guilty.

>There is photographic proof that there is a knife in Fancypants. Said picture was taken at 8:15 PM. It was left un-tampered and it clearly depicts his dead body in the pool of blood. One can easily see that there are burn marks on him as well.

I wasn't arguing that it wasn't the knife that killed him, but instead that it could have been the pony that tampered with evidence in question that tampered with it. There is a 30 minute span between pictures in which the killer could have done the crime, even not on location, by stunning him and then stabbing him with the knife; whose origins are still shrouded in mystery.

I am sorry, but all of your evidence is shrouded in doubt and is pointing more towards foul play than proof of Rarity being the killer. The only pony proven to be AT the scene of the crime around the time of the crime is the photographer.

Still no evidence, I see. You are very evasive on presenting hard evidence that shows that Rarity was not the only one to touch the blade.

We are asking about the blade. That is what this argument is about, nothing else. The camera is irrelevant to this argument, and yet you bring it up.

The burden of the proof belongs to the defense. I have already stated why I believe Rarity is the one who committed this crime. I have evidence showing that she did.

Where is your evidence that she didn't? Oh wait, you don't have any, do you? Is that why you have been merely producing conjecture and avoiding presenting evidence showing the photographer is capable of committing this crime?

For all we know, he could have entered and left sometime between 8:15 and 8:30. The murder is stated to have happened at 8:10 PM, according to the autopsy report.

I suggest that you do not try to argue against the autopsy, as that is mere foolishness.

No it isn't. It throws the legitimacy of YOUR evidence you presented into question. It is the duty of the prosecution to provide proof that their evidence is not not perfect/tampered with; not mine. I have proven that it was possible for this to have happened through using the camera. I don't need to prove that this possibility happened, when it WAS possible. You can't, and really shouldn't, use evidence that you can't prove is actually irrefutably evidence.

I am not even going further, because the duty of having to present the evidence to prove your evidence is not faulty or has been tampered with is your duty, not mine. Stop trying to make me clean up after you, you are a grown man.

What you speak is true. I have no evidence to prove that this has happened, but you have no evidence to prove that the blade was not tampered with by the same person that tampered with the photo. The motive to tamper with the blade or commit the crime themselves is there, thus the legitimacy of your evidence, which is the blade that has Rarity's magic prints on, is thrown into question.

We can question the photographer now, but literally the only thing you have to connect Rarity to the crime is now under suspicion of tampering; thus being false evidence.

Oh, and I have provided the evidence many many times, which is the camera which proves motive, proven tampering of existing evidence, the existence of a pony other than Rarity at the time of the crime, etc.

Your Baldness, that utter imbecile Mash-dono with all of her poppycock stirred up the court the other day.

I believe you demanded a witness, however, I now refuse to bring this witness to the stand.

Mash-dono asserted that due to one photo being tampered with that the other evidence was faulty. I say balderdash. This evidence, excluding the one photo of the argument, which is legitimate, shows that there was indeed a scuffle between the defendant and the victim prior to the murder, thus giving the defendant her motive. Remember that the other evidence is also without fault. There was a photo of a murdered FancyPants taken at 8:15 PM and Rarity's magical aura was found on the knife. Since then, we have acquired more information about the knife, and Fool Bright may fill you in on those details if you wish. Rarity was also seen leaving the crime scene, when the police had arrived. We have witnesses that can attest to the fact that the defendant paid visit to FancyPants prior to 8:00 PM. A reminder, that at 8:00 PM, the police were called due to a disturbance in FancyPants' apartment.

I refuse to allow the defense to get away with this tom foolery any longer. While we do have a new defense attorney taking this case, the defense should still be penalized for wasting the time of the court during the last day that court was in session. >>>[COURT RECORD]<<<

>[Evidence]<

Hidden Camera - A camera installed in FancyPants’ house that would take pictures every fifteen minutes.

Autopsy Report - Fancypants was killed due to loss of blood pressure and resulting death of the brain due to carotid artery being severed. Time of death is measured at 8:10PM.

The body - Fancypants shows sign of electrocution that may have been an electric spell used to knock him out and/or leave him more vulnerable to attack. Signs of electricity around the crime scene shows he may have fought back.

Camera Image - An image that shows FancyPants and Rarity in the middle of a tense argument. Originally taken at 5:00 PM. Photo was taken by Big Shot, a paparazzi pony. Establishes a motive for Rarity to kill FancyPants.

Map of the House - A map of the crime scene (>>753399)

Murder Weapon - A knife. Found in the victim. Bears Rarity’s magical aura. Apparently retractable.

Other Camera Photo - Taken at 8:15 PM. Shows a dead FancyPants with the murder weapon inside of him.

>[Profiles]<

Mia Fey - The Defense for this case. Highly confident in her own ability.
Simon Blackquill - The Prosecution for this case. Has a thing for swords and samurai metaphors. Knows a lot of inmates who had interesting professions in the past.
High Judge - The Judge presiding over the current case.
Bobby Fulbright - The lead detective for the case. Keeps talking about justice.
Rarity - The Defendant. Speaks in a refined english tone. Loves clothes.
Fancypants - The victim. Apparently, a bit of a snob.
Big Shot - The Prosecution’s first witness.
Gregory Edgeworth - Defense Attorney from the past, ready to face Prosecutor Blackquill.

Your Honor. I would like to direct the court's attention back to the court transcript.

>First of all, we know who took the photograph. He asserts that he did not give the photo to anyone, meaning he has to be the one who replaced the photograph.

>This photographer is a mere earth pony, and has no magical capabilities, so asserting that he is the one who murdered Fancypants is foolhardy.

The Prosecution clearly stated that they received these photographs from an Earth Pony, while the witness is a Pegasus. It is the defenses belief that another did indeed have access to copies of these photographs. This raises the possibility that a copy of the photograph from 8:00, which seems to be conveniently missing, may exist as well. Barring that, the witness has proposed the possibility that this photo can be recovered. The Defense requests a recess for further investigation into this matter.

> It is the defenses belief that another did indeed have access to copies of these photographs.

Either way, where is your evidence? Yes, it is an interesting theory, but you lack a few things.

You lack a pony who could have this other photo, and you lack EVIDENCE. Evidence is everything in a court of law, Edgeworth-dono. Where is your evidence showing that without a shadow of a doubt, there is someone else that has a version of this photo? … It is true that the defense presently lacks evidence, however that is the reason this recess has been requested. Until now we had no reason to believe such evidence existed. However the significance of this 8:00 photo to this trial is too important to ignore. That this testimony brings up the possibility that this photo exists is reason enough to warrant further investigation. I find it difficult to believe that the prosecutor's office would make such a huge oversight as to fail to notice the defendant's wings.

Murder Weapon - A knife. Found in the victim. Bears Rarity’s magical aura. Apparently retractable.

Other Camera Photo - Taken at 8:15 PM. Shows a dead FancyPants with the murder weapon inside of him.

Hidden Camera Contract - A contract signed between Fancypants and Big Shot allowing the former to install and use a hidden camera inside Fancypants’ house.

>[Profiles]<

Mia Fey - The Defense for this case. Highly confident in her own ability.

Simon Blackquill - The Prosecution for this case. Has a thing for swords and samurai metaphors. Knows a lot of inmates who had interesting professions in the past. Wears shackles for the hell of it, and to intimidate the Defense.

High Judge - The Judge presiding over the current case.

Bobby Fulbright - The lead detective for the case. Keeps talking about justice. It is the real Bobby Fulbright, from the past. Prosecutor Blackquill brought him to the future assumably because he missed Fulbright.

Rarity - The Defendant. Speaks in a refined english tone. Loves clothes.

Fancypants - The victim. Apparently, a bit of a snob.

Big Shot - The Prosecution’s first witness. Can remotely access the photos taken by the hidden camera at any time.

Gregory Edgeworth - Defense Attorney from the past, ready to face Prosecutor Blackquill.

Discord - Manifestation of Chaos. Originally only visible to defense, he revealed himself to the entire court for a moment to state that he froze the witness' appearance.

Miles Edgeworth - Chief Prosecutor. Made his presence known when his father came back from the past.

>[Prosecutions Argument]<

The Prosecution argues that the slip up of calling the photographer an Earth pony was simply that, a slip up. No one other than the witness had access to the photos.

>[Defense's Argument]<

The Defense argues that another pony could be involved with the case.

>[Judge's Bias]<

The Judge currently has no bias as court has not reconvened yet.

>>>[RECAP]<<<

The Defense and the Prosecution have been arguing about the sets of photos for the entire case. Big Shot, the photographer, has revealed that it is possible to retrieve the deleted photo from 8:00PM. What it contains, is still a mystery. Detective Bobby Fulbright is to return with the photo as soon as court reconvenes.

According to the witness' prior testimony, he had exclusive access to this photograph, and unless the Prosecution knows something they aren't telling us, the statement concerning the Prosecution receiving those pictures from an Earth Pony was a mere clerical error. Mind you that the 5PM photograph, taken on the same day, depicts Fancypants and Rarity in a tense argument. The motive still stands.

This photograph, taken at 8PM, is entirely new evidence, and since the defense requested it, it is their burden. If they have a fault with their own evidence, then so help me god I shall strike them down and make them pay for their tom foolery myself.

The prosecution had nothing to do with the submitting of this evidence, ergo, I can not be held accountable for the proof.

Other than witness testimony, that we no longer have time for, thanks to the photographic shenanigans that the defense has been pulling since the very beginning of this trial, the prosecution has no evidence. The murder weapon has Rarity's magical aura on it, that in itself should be more than enough to prove that she was there, and that she was the murderer.

Your Honor, The prosecution asks for a verdict. A Guilty verdict, if you will. The defense has done nothing but play games with these photographs and have ignored every other part. I have frequently asked you to penalize them, for I knew they would keep going down this road if they were not halted by your gavel of justice. The defense has no other holes to poke.

The facts of this case remain unchanged.

Rarity and Fancypants were arguing at 5:00 PM; this is backed by photographic evidence
Rarity entered the building at 7:55PM
A disturbance was reported to the police at 8:05PM - this can be backed by Fool Bright
Fancypants is expected to have been murdered at 8:10 PM; this is backed by the autopsy
At 8:15 PM, a photo of a dead Fancypants was taken by the hidden camera
At 8:30 PM Rarity was found leaving the scene and was arrested.

OBJECTION!

An argument made a full three hours before the murder does not establish a definitive motive. We lack context for the argument in question. The witness even testified that he wasn't sure what it was they were arguing about.

Further, going over the transcript, it appears the defendant and victim already had a pre-existing relationship. It is entirely possible my client's aura was on that knife well in advance of the murder.

>>760065

But this is the very basis of the argument, Prosecutor Blackquill. You attempted to place my client on the scene of the crime with a faulty photograph, therefore the burden of placing her on the scene falls to you. That the photo requested by the defense does not place her on the scene either does not excuse the prosecution's earlier failure to place my client on the scene.

The murder weapon was checked for any kinds of signs, Ms. Rarity was the only one who had traces that could be found.

And regardless if it is hearsay or not, it is more than enough to show that something was amiss.

ALL THE DEFENSE HAS DONE THIS ENTIRE TRIAL IS BEAT AROUND THE BUSH! THEY HAVE IGNORED THE MAIN PART OF THE ARGUMENT AND INSTEAD ATTACK THE MORE INSIGNIFICANT PARTS, FAILING TO ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING.

The Prosecution has found that there is Saliva that belongs to another pony on the knife. Clearly, this is a bad day for not only the prosecutor's office, but the police department as well.

Ms. Rarity is not definitely guilty. So long as there is another pony's DNA on here, there is more than enough doubt about who the true culprit is. The prosecution rests.

In case you were wondering, the reason why everything ended so anti-climatically is because we ran out of time, and we decided to go with the coin flip rule. If the coin flip favored the defense, the knife wasn't tested for saliva, and it had another pony's saliva on it. If it favored the prosecution, it was tested and Rarity was the only one found.

Needless to say, it favored the defense. And I was so close to victory to.

Also, what the fuck? No Epilogue? That is fucking lame as all hell. Even if this trial had the most anti climactic end, at least fucking give it some closure. Either that, or a retrial. But since this time, a verdict was handed, I doubt that you guys will do that.

TRPW, have the full story.
When we finished the trial, it was approximately 3:00 AM. I was tired, cranky, and starting to lose it. I was frustrated, and I became a little bitch. I guess some people never change. Honestly, everyone was kind of let down by the verdict except for Gregory Edgeworth and perhaps Ema Skye. I caused drama that night because the defense was going to make another photographic objection, and I basically just gave up there. I got one or two people really pissed that night. Because I was being a little bitch and arguing with the person playing Button's Mom and Discord, Gregory Edgeworth and Ema Skye decided to talk amongst themselves and go with a coin flip. Because I was tired as fuck, I had no other choice, and I really didn't want to cause more drama.

Either way, I'll be returning to my position as Wright in the next case, if someone else doesn't want to be the defense instead. I don't know, but I feel my days as a part of this group are numbered.

Allow me to further elaborate.

We do have a skype group, but it never was mandatory that you partake in it. When we were on 4chan, we were very reliant on a random anon stepping up to be witnesses.

When we did DLC Case 1, Turnabout Snow, we got the whole DLC Case crew in order.

It was thanks to a bunch of new comers who had an interest in threads like this that we were able to make DLC Cases.

Basically, the DLC Case crew is very low in number, and we're always glad to include more people.

Most people think these cases are scripted from beginning to end, but its quite the opposite. Only the Evidence and details of the case are scripted. Any change of details to the case are unscripted. Everything that we do, is improv.

I get a bit too into it, and get frustrated, and start to forget that I'm supposed to be having fun, note the excessive use of caps lock near the end of the trial.

Either way, as it currently stands, our rag tag team of legal figures is as follows:

Noctis(myself) As Phoenix Wright and Simon Blackquill (Sorry for stealing the role, Blackquill Anon)
Pot of Rice as Ema Skye, Judge, Franziska von Karma, and various witnesses in the past
Godot Godfrey As Godot, Franziska von Karma, and Gregory Edgeworth
Judge (Avery) As Judge

The more, the merrier, as they say.
