How Big Is Pone? Silver Strength!TwiDasH7n2 461444

Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria…

Ponies had to be measured. For scientific purposes.

And so two regal sisters discreetly took pictures of their subjects and compared, pixel by pixel, until harmony reigned throughout the land.

To finance their research, they crafted self-service devices modeled after the little ponies of their empire, sold through clandestine draconic networks, and lived out the millennia in opulent excess.

does this measurement conform to the apple measurement?

No, it means Applejack's apples are almost five inches tall instead of four.

Fortunately, AJ can grow them arbitrarily large so the size of human apples is irrelevant.

Applejack obviously gets her seeds from Monsanto.

Someone doesn't know what "at least" means.

Also, given the size of gems in Equestria, she may very well meant Carats with a capital C, as in kilocarats.

A carat is 0.2 grams, so a kilocarat is 200 grams → 20 kilocarats is 4 kilograms.

Rubies are about four times as dense as water, so the same volume of water would weigh one kilogram ==> the gem's volume would be at least one liter.

…I'm not finding any online support for the interpretation of 1 Carat as 1000 carats, although it certainly fits better with the scene.

Can you provide a source?

It was a joke, referencing the fact that one Calorie is 1000 calories.
