What I'm wondering, however, is how this robber got away with $400. If he only emptied one register and got $400 out of it, either the management is retarded, or the cashier wasn't doing their job, in which case making her pay back the money may have been reasonable if she wasn't following procedure.
Most resturants, or shops in general, only keep 100 dollars or less in each register. If one register had over 400 dollars in it, that is fully the fault of the cashier for not making cash drops when they are supposed to be.
If someone were to build up 400 dollars in a register and then get robbed, it's fully reasonable to think that the person on the register did it on purpose then had a friend rob the store, knowing they would get a big payout. It's unlikely, but shit like that does happen.
