Do organized team sports teach people to be hyper-aggressive and dehumanize the other team so they don't feel bad about harming them?

Anonymous 3255854

probably

Further, is this conditioning used to condition the population at large to be this way in regards to other countries?

There is significant infusion of political imagery and sports, American flags everywhere, military displays, etc.

Are national level sports a propaganda tool?

Do they teach this? No.

Is that what most people take away from it? Yes.

I played sports years ago, I don't think it's a simple as outright saying it, but I can see how that's the message they WANT people to take away from it.

I don't think it's a tool designed from the top down to be an instrument of propaganda, but there is an inherent destructive and inimical tendency in the psyche (particularly the psyche with repressed needs) to which the dynamic of professional sports offers a safe and socially acceptable outlet. The level of fanaticism is even crazier in Europe (if less monied); there, it's easier to see how sports can become a kind of ersatz for war.

I think the need to "get it out" is understood as a safeguard in some cultures.

It's crazy. I've only been to Ireland, but there are certain areas where you would be physically endangering yourself by wearing the wrong jersey.

It's fine, if you ever go to Philadelphia, just make sure you wear a Cowboys jersey.

Actually, scientists have proven that the flesh and muscles of a man's penis is used to house a portion of the endorphin released when men get angry. Their hyper-aggression must be a result of them getting the full force of that endorphin rush,

Uhh, no, that's the army you just described.
"Organized" and "team" sports are quite the opposite of excess aggression, or emotional action in general.
As for dehumanizing, I have to admit, that IS sort of how it works. You don't really see competition as the same, breathing, hard working athletes as yourself. They're just that, competition. You can respect someone's achievements and like them as a person outside of sports, but it's not going to help you run faster or jump higher, is it.

It's science bruh don't question it

Anonymous 3256063

No, people have it backwards. Sports don't cause aggression, neither do videogames. It's just violent and aggressive people that are usually drawn to these things as an outlet that isn't direct physical violence to other humans.

HolyGhost!Grimes./iQ 3256082

no more than any other form of competition does, including economics
