>>21879To elaborate a bit, I only started lurking probably a little less than a year ago.
I didn't really know what to expect when I first started lurking, the first thing I came across was a baww thread, and I cried my fucking eyes out. It seemed that 4chan wasn't the place people try to advertise it as.
4chan seems to be advertised on other websites (FunnyJunk, Reddit, ect) as this horrible place where thick-skinned people go to make horrible jokes an relish in eachother's horribleness. But it's not. It's just a discussion/image board. Lauren said it herself, there's some horrible stuff on the board, but the unfiltered discussion provides some of the most truthful statements and analysis of whatever the board wants to discuss.
The people going to 4chan expecting it to be the horrible place where they can talk about horrible things and call people faggots because it's "cool". Now THOSE, are the people hurting the community.
>>21895I've never lurked /v/ enough to know why it's hated so much. Is it really THAT bad?
