>>27258>That would be trite and cliche and way too easy.
yep, and I'd rather not see it happen like that if it does, but it's what I'd bet my money on first.
>Pinkie routinely bakes stuff, but that's at best only tangentially related to her cutie mark.
Yeah .. and I mean, Sweetie sings, and Apple Bloom .. does .. apple stuff .. (or fixing stuff) pretty regularly too, but getting a cutie mark depends on the realization that the act is what makes you you. Pinkie didn't have any problem figuring that out. She aspired to making other ponies feel the sort of joy she saw in that rainbow and when she succeeded at it, she knew that's what she wanted to do forever. (She lucked out and got one of those cutie marks representing a more nebulous concept lel Rainbow Dash Presents
I guess if baking was Pinkie's talent, she'd be Mrs. Cake anyway ..
my point is just that Scootaloo ramps off buildings on a semi-daily basis. It feels like it's just a matter of time until a competition comes up or she gets challenged (a la Rainbow Dash), pulls of a sonic scoot-boom and gets her rainbow mark. I kinda hoped this episode might be "that" for her, but I knew it was just a pipe dream.
As for Babs, I just had her in mind as an example of a past episode where they touched on the kind of theme you and I were talking about with:>It'd be more interesting to see the dynamics of one getting hers first and how they cope with it
I was originally thinking it might be too advanced for them to want to touch, but I think it could be done ..
It's just that, to do it in one episode, you might end up with a MMC rush job, where the story has to be told and not shown because you've only got 22 minutes.
If there was an episode where one of the CMCs gets her mark before the others, it'd have to happen in like, the first minute of the show, then the rest of the ep would be the other two dealing with that ..
