You know, I'm not trying to sound like a buttblasted /pol/tard, but that statement about blacks creating electronic music in the 80s is utter bullshit.
Electronic music did not start in the 80s, and the genres she is likely referring to that gained popularity during and after that decade (house, techno, garage, dubstep etc.) are just the derivative pop forms of shit that people were experimenting with DECADES before then.
Anyone who has any interest in electronic music should know how influential Kraftwerk's output in the 70s (and maybe late 60s?) was, as well as Neu!, Can, and Faust, all of whom helped pioneer the krautrock genre which is known for being a fusion of electronic and rock music (although there is a large amount of variety in it).
And even BEFORE that, classically trained musicians were composing and performing avant-garde electronic music that wasn't even limited by the album format. See: http://www.scaruffi.com/avant/cpt8.html
And spoiler alert: the majority of them were white.
Basically, I'm not trying to be straight-up racist, because I'm not a racist person, but to claim black people invented electronic music in the 80s is just so ignorant it makes me angry.
