What vidya have you been playing recently /anon/?

This is on sale digitally for the 360 for a mere five bucks today, and since I have already beaten and enjoyed the previous one (Arkham Asylum) I figured I'd snatch it.

I've gotten a little ways into it, it's more of the same, but pretty fun. I'm not even a major Batman fan, but these games are great. Beating the shit out of hordes of freak thugs is satisfying as hell. Also gliding and swinging around the grim city is fun too.

I'm the OP, I'm really proud of it, even though probably more than a hundred posts are me.

Maybe the mods could archive it since it's the first video game thread to be super successful on /anon/ (as far as I know).

Although I don't think the bump limit is until like a thousand posts so we have a long way to go.

According to someone on /v/, the creator of Hatred visited 8chan and confirmed the following things for the game:

>Mod support confirmed.

>No killing children
>Free COOP, Multiplayer DLC if the game sells
>No Early Access bullshit
> No steal kills
>Only realistic weapons
>Can shoot people of any race or religion
> Can kill HIPSTERS.

http://mynintendonews.com/2015/03/29/uk-head-teachers-will-report-children-playing-18-video-games/

>A recent report by the BBC says that head teachers in Cheshire in the United Kingdom will report parents to the authorities if they find out that their children have been playing 18+ games like Grand Theft Auto V and Call of Duty. Schools have sent out letters warning parents of the risk of them allowing their children to play unsuitable video games.

> “We are trying to help parents to keep their children as safe as possible in this digital era.

> “It is so easy for children to end up in the wrong place and parents find it helpful to have some very clear guidelines.”

I'm helping my parents move, so we've been going through all the closets and the attic packing shit up. I just found the box we shoved the Nintendo 64 into over a decade ago. Even found the original box it came in in the corner of the attic. I took inventory of the games we still had. Kirby Crystal Shards, Smash Bros, Mario Kart 64, Yoshi's Story, Donkey Kong 64, Paper Mario, Hey You Pikachu, Lego Racers, Super Mario 64, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, and a few others. Man, my childhood was great.

Rural Indiana. It's nice and quiet out here, but communications suffer. There's no cell signal on any square foot of my family's five acres.

>>512346
I'm not very tech savy, but I believe something like that was one option my parents looked into. I think the issue with it was the hills surrounding the house. Only way to get a wireless signal to anywhere on the property was from the sky.

Trying to be a gamer in a very rural area is hell, would not recommend.

Anonymous 512350

>>512347
That blows man, you can't really game with dialup nor satellite. HAve yall looked into putting up a tower on the highest point of the property? Would prolly be worth it to have decent internet.

Anonymous 512351

>>512350
The hills go on for miles in every direction, and a tower would have to be over a hundred feet tall just to clear the tree tops. There's a bunch of huge pines growing on all the hill tops for some reason.
It's too late now anyway, we're moving. In three months time I won't have to put up with this bullshit internet any more and I can actually play games with other people. It'll be amazing, but I'll miss living out inna woods.

Okay so normally I'm a faggot casual who plays on easy or normal/medium but this game was free on XBL last month and I had already beaten and sold it when it first came out, so I downloaded it and decided to try it on Hard. I'm gonna copypaste something I posted to /v/ to explain it:

Holy shit, Hard mode on this game is easier than easy mode on most games. Literally the only thing that changes is enemies do more damage. But if you die, you just respawn a few feet away and the enemies you killed are still dead, AND they give you extra ammo. So basically you can just keep charging the enemies like a retard and there will never be any consequence because eventually you will have killed them all no matter how many times you die. The biggest threats are the turrets and you can just use one of those vigors to turn them to your side.

And that's not even taking into account the clusterfuck nonsense of a plot.

Anonymous 512421

>>512392
Game was shit, what did you expect?

Anonymous 512451

>>512421

Well I did enjoy my first playthrough but a lot of that was due to hype and at first you don't realize how dumb the story is until it's all over.

It does have a very strong atmosphere and interesting areas, and the gory gunplay is fun, but there's just too many sections that are basically interactive cutscenes (completely scripted and impossible to fail).

It's a step above the average modern FPS but it sure as hell doesn't live up to the two masterpieces that came before it.

Anonymous 512570

>>388585

FINALLY I finished this game that I started the thread with (excluding some post-credits bonus mission I don't feel like doing now).

I played for hours today, it was a long-ass story. And for some reason during the final few missions I got really bad framerate dropping randomly. That's consoles for you I guess.

Everyone says Arkham Origins isn't as good so I might skip that and wait for the next-gen sequel to come out.

I just discovered Ironcast, and it is pretty much a perfect game! A turn-based steampunk mech puzzle strategy with roguelike permadeath, but where the XP earned during each game is added up for unlocking stuff for following attempts. Perfect music, sounds, graphics and gameplay, and the weapons truly feel like they have impact.
